Sicherheitsregime und -kulturen
Ausgangspunkt dieses Schwerpunktes bildet die Bedeutung und Vielschichtigkeit eines sich in den Jahrzehnten immer weiter entgrenzenden Sicherheitsbegriffs. In immer mehr gesellschaftlichen Feldern findet dieser Anwendung, wobei neue Technologien, Praktiken sowie Zuständigkeits- und Machtkonstellationen entstehen.
In der Tradition der Science and Technology Studies sowie der kritischen Kriminologie wird das wechselseitige Bedingungsverhältnis von Technik und Sozialen unter der Perspektive der Verdachtsgenerierung, der Devianz sowie entsprechender Inklusions- und Exklusionsprozesse betrachtet. Für unterschiedliche urbane Kontexte und soziale Situationen werden Rahmenbedingungen, relevante Technologien sozialer Kontrolle sowie entsprechende Interpretationsschemata identifiziert und diskutiert.
Ziel der Forschungsprojekte ist es, soziale, ethische und rechtliche Perspektiven in die Entwicklung von Konzepten und Technologie einzubringen und Tendenzen der Versicherheitlichung ggf. zu relativieren bzw. zu begrenzen. Projektpartner sind staatliche sowie nicht-staatliche Sicherheitsakteure, aber auch Nichtregierungsorganisationen und Akteure auf der lokalen Ebene.
Security regimes and cultures
The jumping-off point for this theme is seen in the meaning and complexity of a concept of security that in recent years and decades has been continuously magnified, and has found application in an ever-increasing portion of society, leading to the creation of new technologies, practices, and constellations of power and jurisdiction.
In the tradition of science and technology studies and critical criminology, the mutual conditioning relationship of techology and society is examined under the perspective of suspicion generation, deviance, and corresponding inclusion and exclusion processes. Framework conditions, relevant technologies of social control and relevant interpretation schemata for varying urban contexts and social situations are identified and discussed.
Social, ethical and legal perspectives are integrated in the development of concepts and technologies. Tendencies of securitisation are then seen in perspective with the goal of an eventual limitation. Project partners are not only national and non-national security actors, and also non-governmental organizations and actors at the local level.
